Guests from Hosei University Visited SSE
On December 23, 2011, guests from the graduate school of CIS, Hosei University visited School of Software Engineering (SSE) of USTC. They include Prof. Nbuhiko Koike, the head of the graduate school of Computer and Information Sciences (CIS), Hosei University, Prof. KenjiOhmori, Prof. Runhe Huang, Prof. Hiroshi Sako and Mr. Kensuke Nagumo.
Associate dean Dr. Xi Li and professors from our school received them with great hospitality. Dr. Xi Li made a general introduction of SSE, including faculty, key laboratories, research areas, annual enrollment, internship program, employment, etc.
Prof. Nbuhiko Koike dwelled upon the current status of the Double Degree Program (DDP). According to Prof. Nbuhiko Koike, another purpose of their visit included meeting with 2012 DDP students from our school. In September 2011, 3 students from our school were successfully enrolled and have started their study in Japan. After several rounds of selection this year, it has been decided that 4 SSE students will join the double degree program in Autumn,2012. After the meeting professors offered these students information concerning schedule of DDP students, subjects to study, supervisors and R & D topics, which gave them inspiration as well as direction.
In May 2011, School of Computing, Hosei University and School of Software Engineering (SSE) of USTC signed an agreement for double degree program which helped to provide SSE students with a broad and solid background in computer science. The double degree program enables students to obtain a master degree from Hosei University as well as another master degree from School of Software Engineering of USTC, one of the pilot software institutes in China.
